Training Resources 
The following training is available for elders:

Each workshop lasts between 90 minutes and 2 hours and because they are interactive they give the opportunity for people to get to know one another better and to share experiences.

 Eldership today

In one session we explore the spiritual; nature of the office and role of the Elder and seek in practical ways to encourage its development.

 Eldership Tomorrow

Explores in four sessions the development potential of Pastoral Care - Session Kirk Management -Faith Sharing -  Leading Worship. This can be run as a series of four workshops or each can be run as a one of.

 Exploring Eldership

For those considering or new to Eldership as well as a refresher for experienced Elders. Over two sessions we explore the topics of The Elder as Leader and the Elder as Pastor.

Leading Worship Sessions

There are a series of workshops covering the following aspects of worship:-

The purpose of worship – The Bible in worship – Presentation Skills – Prayer in worship – Music in worship – Speaking in church – Putting it all together.

Although there are seven headings this course is adaptable and can be used as a day workshop or over four or five separate workshops.

Pastoral Care Sessions

These are designed to help Elders and Visitors in the Pastoral Care of their people.

The purpose of the visit – Listening skills – Caring for the lapsed – Visiting the bereaved - Visiting the sick – Visiting the confused elderly.

There is also the new DVD called ENCOUNTERS which looks at Care Teams – Dementia – Learning disability – Life limiting illness – Young people – Visiting in hospital
