Packs Inverclyde
Starter
Packs Inverclyde was launched in September 2002 by Inverclyde Churches
Working Together. We were set up in response to the very real needs of
families and Greenock individuals who have accessed or are trying to
access a first tenancy and do not have the financial or other resources
to turn that tenancy into a home. Starter Packs Inverclyde collects and
distributes packs of basic household goods which are essential to a new
tenant.
As part of their homelessness action plan Inverclyde council provides
Starter Packs with premises free of charge. We have also received
support from numerous other organisations.
Starter Packs Inverclyde is almost entirely reliant on volunteers. The
project is run by an elected management committee. Elections to the
management committee take place at the Annual General Meeting held
every year in November.
